WEEK ONE

POSTNATAL CORE CONNECT

Week 1: Release and Reset

When we think about “the core,” it’s easy to picture intense exercises like planks or sit-ups. But your core is actually a system of muscles working together—your diaphragm, deep abdominals, pelvic floor, and back muscles—all coordinating to support and stabilize you.

At the center of it all is your diaphragm—your main breathing muscle, and the driver of your core system.

When we carry tension (especially through the mid and upper back), it can restrict how the diaphragm moves. And when the diaphragm isn’t moving well, the rest of the core can’t function as effectively.

This week is about releasing that tension and creating space—so your body can come back into better alignment, and your core can begin to support you more naturally.

WEEK ONE RESOURCES

Here are two short practices you can come back to this week:

  • A gentle diaphragmatic breathing practice to reconnect with your core system
  • A short seated upper body mobility flow to release tension through your chest and back
